Boys’ wellbeing in focus for our 2022 Annual Appeal

In years gone by, schools were all about the “three Rs” – reading, writing and arithmetic.

Today, education is far more holistic, focusing on the overall wellbeing of students, as well as essential learnings.

At Blackfriars, wellbeing is being brought into even sharper focus with the development of our new wellbeing hub.

The hub – to be created in a space off the Senior Library and overlooking a tranquil rainforest garden, which will also be overhauled – will be dedicated to promoting good mental health and wellbeing, as well as providing a new home for our counselling staff.

The library forms the centre of the wellbeing hub and brings together learning enrichment, careers, VET, EALD, chaplaincy, ICT and, now, counselling.

To complement the development of the hub, Blackfriars will also update the equipment in our fitness room and create a new outdoor gym, between the Neill Gymnasium and the Early Learning Centre.

The development of these gym facilities acknowledges the importance of physical health in ensuring mental wellbeing.

Together, these spaces will ensure Blackfriars is ideally equipped to look after the physical and mental health of our boys.

The mental and physical wellbeing of our students is the focus of the 2022 Annual Appeal.

But we need your help.

In the spirit of the Dominican pillar of Community, we warmly invite you to make a contribution to the 2022 Annual Appeal that will directly support the development of the new wellbeing hub and our new physical fitness facilities.

We accept gifts made by cash, cheque, EFT and credit card (Visa and MasterCard accepted).

Credit card donations can be made at any time using our secure online portal at charidy.com/blackfriars. Alternatively, you can telephone the Blackfriars Development Office during business hours on (08) 8169 3966.

If you wish to make a cash donation, we recommend you drop it off at the Finance Office marked for the attention of the Development Office. Donations by cheque can be posted or delivered in person.

EFT donations can be made using the bank details in the payment slip below. Please complete and return the slip below if making your gift by EFT so we can track your deposit and issue you with a receipt.

Gifts to the 2022 Annual Appeal are made through the Blackfriars Building Fund and are tax deductible.
