Board Directors

Blackfriars currently has limited opportunities for suitably experienced and qualified individuals to guide the school over the coming years by joining the school Board. The role of the Blackfriars Board is to provide leadership, strategic guidance and oversight of governance for the school.

Key activities include:

  • overseeing the development and implementation of the new Blackfriars Strategic Plan and revised Master Plan
  • engaging in the Board’s decision making
  • attending and actively contributing to Board meetings (seven per year)
  • participating in Board sub-committees

Expressions of interest are welcome from individuals both within and outside the Blackfriars community.

Essential selection criteria include strategic thinking, financial literacy and Board governance. We are also seeking significant experience in at least one or more of the following sectors: education, governance, capital development and/or digital cyber and information technology. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be complemented by drive, flexibility, energy and vision.

Knowledge of or a desire to develop an appreciation of boys’ education, Catholic schooling and the Dominican ethos of Blackfriars is also necessary. This represents an opportunity to make a significant and valuable contribution to the only school operated by the Dominican Friars in the southern hemisphere.

Telephone enquiries to Mr Angelo Primavera, Board Chair (+61 419 814 652) or Mr Gerard Leahy, Company Secretary (+61 409 380 987).

Formal expressions of interest, including a brief cover letter and a recent resume, are to be sent to the Company Secretary, Mr Gerard Leahy, by email by the close of business on Friday 10 May 2024. All information provided by applicants will be subject to the Blackfriars Priory School Privacy Policy.
