Prospect Road Autumn Fair is back for 2025

All the fun of the fair is returning to Blackfriars.

This Sunday (2 March), Blackfriars will host the Prospect Road Autumn Fair, with thousands of people expected for a day of family-friendly fun.

Blackfriars’ Director of Development Patrick Kelly said the Prospect Road Autumn Fair – an official Adelaide Fringe event – was one of the highlights of the annual school calendar.

“Blackfriars is so proud to be part of the Prospect community and host this annual event,” Mr Kelly said.

“With our recent completion of the Albert Centre, the school’s grounds are looking better than ever and we can’t wait welcome everyone here on Sunday.

“Our school is more than just a place of learning – it’s a hub for our community. Hosting the Prospect Road Autumn Fair allows us to celebrate our shared values, strengthen connections and create lasting memories for students, families and the wider Prospect community.”

Tahlia Maurer, Blackfriars Development Officer – Old Scholars & Community Relations, is preparing for the Prospect Road Autumn Fair.

The fair will feature food stalls, sporting activities, a bar, live music, roaming performers, plenty of games and activities for the children and more. Blackfriars students in Stage Band 1, Street Band and The Dropkicks will be on hand to entertain the crowds.

Blackfriars’ Parents & Friends Committee will make sure people are well fed throughout the day, running the barbecue and bake stall. Members of the school’s Vietnamese community will also run a food stall.

P&F Chairwoman Natalie Galkowski said the fair was a fabulous community event.

“The forecast for Sunday is looking absolutely perfect, 26°C, so we’re sure it’s going to be an amazing day,” Mrs Galkowski said.

“It is such a great opportunity to showcase the school and celebrate everything that makes the Prospect community great.”

Meanwhile, Blackfriars’ front oval –  Padnpadninya Tapa – will showcase fabulous designers, artisans and creators at dozens of market stalls.

The Markets in Prospect team will have more than 60 stalls, including a showcase of SA distillers, a tastings section to experience locally made sauces, spices, juices, condiments and jams, local artisans, jewellery and much, much more.

And we are thrilled to welcome back Fibre Feast, South Australia’s premier fibre and yarn-craft event. Fibre Feast brings together an amazing range of craft people and traders to showcase the skill and expertise in the industry and inspire the crafting community of SA.

Designers, dyers, yarn vendors, weavers, fibre producers and farmers, guilds and charity groups from across Australia will display, demonstrate and sell their wares.
