Prospect Road Autumn Fair comes to Blackfriars

Roll up, roll up! All the fun of the fair is coming to Blackfriars.

The Prospect Road Autumn Fair will be held on Blackfriars front oval (Padnipadninya Tapa) on Sunday 26 March.

This year, the school is teaming up with Markets in Prospect and Fibre Feast SA to present the biggest ever Prospect Road Autumn Fair.

There will be food stalls, a bar, music, plenty of fun for the kids and, in association with Markets in Prospect, dozens of pop-up market stalls showcasing fabulous designers, artisans and creators.

“We’re so excited to be able to once again host the Prospect Road Autumn Fair,” Blackfriars’ Director of Development Patrick Kelly says.

“It’s an event not to be missed – a full-on day of family fun. So, pop the date in your diary now and celebrate with our community in the heart of Prospect.”

Tours of Blackfriars will also be available throughout the day.

Stephanie Ferretti, the organiser of the highly successful Markets in Prospect, in Vine Street Plaza, says it promises to be a fun day.

“Markets in Prospect’s mission has always been about supporting our local small businesses, SA artisans and designers in our community,” Stephanie says.

“And we are proud to announce that we will be welcoming a new group of young entrepreneurs to our market community at the Prospect Road Autumn Fair.

“There is a real buzz about the fair at Blackfriars and we are thrilled to be joining the festivities.”

Pru Raymond, also known as Dear Pru, is happy to bring Fibre Feast to Blackfriars for the first time.

“The move to Blackfriars Priory School has enabled us to invite even more stallholders, demonstrators and guests into our event,” Pru says.

“We will have 54 stallholders; the largest number since this event began in 2018.”

Fibre Feast will include yarn, tools, patterns and accessories for makers of all different skill levels and interests, such as knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, felting, yarn dyeing, macrame and embroidery.

“Prospect Road Autumn Fair is a family-friendly, vibrant community event and we hope that the creativity and energy of Fibre Feast will just add to that and there will be a real sense of invitation and inclusivity,” Pru says.

“We really want to share the benefits of engaging in fibre arts: mindfulness, creative self-expression, community and connection to heritage and culture. Being part of this event provides a means for us to share what we do with a broader community.”
