Primary update: end of Term 2

Dear Parents,

As we come to the end of a very unusual semester, I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for your co-operation in adhering to all the restrictions and protocols put in place from March onwards. Even though we are slowly moving back to normal there are still important procedures to follow as per SA Health guidelines. Social distancing and minimal classroom contact is still recommended.

I am sure you will agree that staff have also been outstanding in ensuring minimal disruption to learning over this period. They have worked hard and deserve their holiday – as do you and your children!

Earlier in the term we had a visit from FYI Education which was set up in the Primary Library as an inflatable classroom. This program was created based on the Social and Emotional Learning General Capabilities from the Australian Curriculum. It covered topics like friendships, relationship skills, bullying (particularly exclusion and verbal), conflict resolution and social awareness. It did all of this with humour and entertainment. The boys and staff loved it!

Late last term we had a visit from the Growing with Gratitude team who ran a program called, The Lads. It covered resilience with happiness, confidence, overcoming challenges and how to handle bullying among other things. During the holidays families can attend workshops based on what the boys experienced. I highly recommend these events, so please click on the image below to find out more if you are interested:

We received joyous news from two of our staff members recently. Steph La Forgia is having her third child later this year and Krystale Petruzzella will be having her second child also towards the end of this year. Both will complete Term 3 and we extend our congratulations to them.

Just a reminder that the last day for this term will be Thursday 2 July. More information about arrangements for Term 3 can be found in Mr Cobiac’s Principal’s Update here.

Stay safe and warm.
