COVID19 has altered many things in 2020. SAPSASA Athletics was another event affected by the pandemic and had to be re-scheduled to Term 4. On Monday 26 October, 23 athletes ventured to SA Athletics Stadium for the North Adelaide SAPSASA District Selection Trials.

Congratulations to our outstanding athletes for achieving the following placings:

Under 10 Boys

Alex Ward – 1st 100m, 1st Long Jump

Hamish Merrin – 1st High Jump, 4th 200m

Luca Emmerson – 2nd Discus

Harry Zajaczkowski – 4th Discus

Ward, Zajaczkowski, Petroccia & Merrin – 4th 4x100m Relay

Under 11 Boys

Joshua Henry – 1st Discus, 1st Shot Put & 3rd 100m

Ivan Zunic – 4th 800m

Wilson O’Neill – 1st High Jump

Noah Horner – 2nd High Jump, 4th Long Jump

Henry, Forby, Horner & Zunic – 1st 4 x 100m Relay

Under 12 Boys

Alex Tran – 1st 100m, 1st 200m, 3rd Long Jump

Oliver Nolan – 3rd 100m

Lewis Grainger – 1st 800m

Alfie George – 3rd Shot Put

Nolan, Grainger, Tran & Roque – 2nd 4x100m Relay

Under 13 Boys

Jeffrey Leung – 3rd 100m, 3rd 200m

Kalan James – 4th 800m, 3rd High Jump & 3rd Long Jump

Hugh Caton – 1st Discus, 3rd Shot Put

Eli Scharfbillig – 4th High Jump

Caton, Leung, Hyunh & Skene – 2nd 4x100m Relay

Congratulations also go to all athletes who participated. Their efforts and attitude were terrific.

Blackfriars finished second overall by a single point to Walkerville Primary School. This was an outstanding effort considering Blackfriars competes only in the boys’ events, whereas Walkerville competes across both boys and girls events.
