A mixed bag of results from week four, with some big wins, big losses and everything in between! Some excellent efforts to celebrate in each and every team though, so well done Hounds.
Before we get to the results, just a reminder to all families that if you son cannot make a training or game, please ensure you let your Teacher in Charge know as soon as possible via email or SEQTA message. This is vital not only for team selection purposes, but more importantly for the duty of care we have for all students.
Alright, into the results!
Hound of the Week
Week 4 saw many wins across the board for our Hounds, however there has been a consistent performer in the Middle Basketball. Our Hound of the Week is Tony Hannouche, scoring 7 point against CBC, well done!
Game of the Week
This week there are two games of the week! Our Senior A2 and Senior B table tennis teams took out very narrow victories against St Ignatius and Pembroke respectively. Keep up the hard work boys!
Pedal Prix Recap – from Mr Kelly
Pedal Prix racing made its much anticipated return to the Blackfriars co-curricular schedule last Sunday with a 6-hour race at The Bend Motorsport Park. After a 12-month COVID-enforced lay off, our boys hit the track in the 2021 UniSA HPV Super Series with two cycles – Hound #1 competing in Category S3 (Years 10 to 12) and Hound #2 in Category S2 (Years 7 to 9).
Racing got underway at 10am with a total of 181 cycles taking to the 3.41km West Circuit at Tailem Bend. Both teams performed solidly throughout the day, running consistently inside the top 20 in their respective categories. As the chequered flag came down at 4pm, our senior boys were placed 12 out of 36 in their category, completing 63 laps, while the S2 boys were 16 out of 46, completing 56 laps.
Fastest lap for Hound #1 went to Nicolas Pamula with a 4:41.376 (top speed 43.577 km/h) on lap 25, while Sebastian Zajaczkowski with a 4:50.521 (42.206 km/h) on lap 7 was quickest for Hound #2.
Well done to all boys involved, particularly our 9 rookie riders who experienced HPV racing for the first time over the weekend. We now look ahead to the next race on Sunday 20 June at Victoria Park.
