2024 Primary Award winners; Year 6 Graduation celebration
Congratulations to the Primary students whose commitment to the four pillars of Dominican life – Prayer, Study, Community and Service – has been formally recognised.
The award recipients were announced at last night’s Primary Awards Night and Year 6 Graduation. Head of Primary Emma Begg said it was a privilege to formally recognise the award winners for their dedication and commitment throughout 2024.
“Tonight is a celebration of achievement, growth and the wonderful journey that we have shared as a Primary School this year. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm that have defined our school community throughout the year,” Ms Begg told the gathering.
“This evening, we gather to honour the remarkable efforts of our students – not only for their academic achievements but also for their kindness, resilience, creativity, leadership and dedication to our four Pillars of Dominican Life.
“These awards represent far more than certificates and medals alone; they are symbols of perseverance, courage and the pursuit of holistic excellence.”
Year 6 graduation celebration
Last night doubled as our Year 6 Graduation. The students were presented with their Graduation certificates and, in a special video, each boy thanked their family for their love and support.
Ms Begg also paid tribute to the “village” that helped raise a child.
“To our families, thank you for your unwavering support and partnership.Your encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in helping your children thrive,” she said.
“To our students … whether you received an award or supported your peers, your hard work, kindness and resilience shine brightly, and we are so proud of each and every one of you.
“As we look ahead to the future, let us carry the lessons and memories of this year with us. I wish you all a restful, joyful holiday season and look forward to welcoming you back next year, ready for new adventures and challenges.”

Principal David Ruggiero thanked the Primary teaching staff.
“Thank you to Ms Begg and (Assistant Head of Primary) Ms Petrilli for their leadership in our Primary School,” Mr Ruggiero said.
“And to all of the Primary School teachers, they do a power of work in those times when the nurturing, the care, the support is critical to the formation of a young person about to begin their Secondary journey, that transition to independence, to a level that sees them mature, graduate (Year 12) and become fine young men.”
